For The Efficient Development Of Opacity, There Is No Real Alternative To Tio2
Titanium Dioxide is the most important white pigment used in coatings and construction. Although it is most often considered an effective white pigment, its greatest benefit is providing opacity.
Titanium Dioxide provides opacity by scattering the visible light, by bending the light before it reaches the substrate. For the efficient development of opacity, there is no real alternative to TiO2.
It is important to consider the appearance of transmitted light in developing your formulation. For instance, smaller particle size TiO2 grades transmit a more yellow undertone versus similar products containing a larger particle size. The grade of TiO2 you select will have a direct effect on the undertone of your final product, so it’s important to select the grade that will provide you with the effect you are looking for in a given application.
