Tronox Set To Become The Largest TIO2 Company In The World
In February 2017 Tronox Limited announced a definitive agreement to acquire Cristal's Titanium Dioxide production assets. When completed, this acquisition will make Tronox the world’s largest producer of Titanium Dioxide and will offer a wider range of high quality products
Tronox Limited currently operates three titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment plants, in the USA, Netherlands and Australia. It operates mines in South Africa and Australia. It has a research and development center in the USA and an electrolyte and specialty chemicals division in the USA.
Tronox Titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigments add brightness and durability to paints, plastics, paper, and other everyday products.
Titanium Dioxide is the most important white pigments used in coatings and construction. In addition to being an effective white pigment, TiO2’s greatest benefit is providing opacity.
Titanium Dioxide provides opacity by scattering the visible light, by bending the light before it reaches the substrate. For the efficient development of opacity, there is no real alternative to TiO2.
